The sad reality is that in the U.S. overdoses happen at an alarming rate and show no signs of slowing down. the CDC determined that there was an estimated 107,543 drug overdose deaths in 2023 alone. Of that number, a large amount stems from laced substances where the users are not aware of the drugs that they are taking due to the carelessness and unreliability of their street supplier. Unfortunately, sometimes this realization is made too late and can only be determined post-mortem. That doesn’t make it any less important. Determining the who, what, and where in this situation can prove to be paramount in saving the next life.
